Winter is a great time to enjoy the parks, whether for a casual walk through the snow looking for animal tracks or a full fledge workout with snowshoes on your boots. February is heart month, so give your own heart a present with some cardiorespiratory activity.

There are many places to go sledding in Stroud Region Parks. One popular location is the sides of the Levee in Dansbury Park.

Another popular sledding location is between the 8th green and the 9th tee at Glen Brook Golf Club. Limited parking is available along Hickory Valley Rd. in this area. ( Map )

Hiking

The Levee Loop Trail is still open to hikers during the winter With the leves off the trees you can enjoy great views of Brodhead Creek and maybe spot an eagle. ( Map )

Snow-shoeing

During heavy snow, try snow-shoeing the Levee Loop Trail or the paths at Glen Brook Golf Club.

Cross Country Skiing

You can cross country ski along the paths at Glen Brook Golf Club, just avoid the actual greens please. ( Map )

On some Saturdays during the winter the Cafe at Glen Brook Golf Club opens early, so stop in for some food or a cup of hot chocolate to warm up after the outdoor activity.
