Session One: Wednesdays, October 19- November 2
Session Two: Wednesdays, November 9 - November 23
Time: 7:15-8:00 p.m.
Fee: $25 per session *must pre-register*
Age: 12 and older
Location: Chipperfield Elementary pool


Family Swim Fridays

Family Swim Fridays are for the entire family to swim and enjoy the pool during colder months. Children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Swim diapers are required for those not potty-trained. Life-jackets are available if needed. Groups of 10 or more, please call 48 hours in advance at 570-426-1512 to ensure adequate staffing.
Dates: Fridays, Sept. 9 through Dec. 16 (excluding Nov. 25)
Time: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Fee: $5 per person or $15 for a family (2 adults & 2 children) to be paid in cash at the pool.
Location: Chipperfield Elementary pool

Experience the healthy benefits of water exercise!

Activity in the water, whether swimming laps, water walking, or completing strengthening activities, has wonderful cardiovascular and musculoskeletal benefits! Natural buoyancy lessens the impact on joints.
Dates: Wednesdays, October 19 - November 23

Fee: $5 to be paid in cash at the pool

American Red Cross Learn to Swim

Fees: $75/per-child

Location: Chipperfiel Elementary School Pool

Swim Testing will be held on the first day of classes

Descriptions: SROSRC utilizes the American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim program, which is taught by American Red Cross certified water safety instructors. Instructors teach basic water comfort and safety through advanced stroke development in addition to water safety tips. It is comprehensive, developmentally appropriate swimming and water safety program that teaches the student how to swim safetly and skillfully. The prerequisite for each level is successful demonstration of skills from the preceding level, except for Level 1. 

Parent & Child - Introduces basic water skills for both parent and child, ages 6 months to 3 years old. 
Pre-school - Teaches developmentally appropriate aquatic skills such as water safety, fundamental skills, and basic swimming for children ages 3 and 5 years old.
Level 1 - Introduction to water skills to help participants ages 6-15 to feel comfortable in the water.
Level 2 - Fundamental aquatic skills, participants will learn fundamental skills for ages 6- 15.
Level 3 - Stroke development, builds on the skills from Level 2 with additional guided practice in deeper waters.
Level 4 - Stroke improvement, develops the confidence in the skills learned to improve on additional aquatic skills.
Level 5 - Stroke refinement, provides further instruction, coordination, and refinements of strokes.
Level 6 - Swimming and skill proficiency, refines the stroke so partipants can swim with ease, efficiency, and power over greater distances.
