Swimming Pools

A new and more efficient method of managing pool admissions and membership debuts this year at the Stroudsburg Borough and Dansbury Park Pools using the ActiveNet online registration system. To qualify for a resident rate at the pool, you must bring proof of residency (tax, water, or sewer bill). Without proof of residency, non-resident rates will apply. Stroud Township Residents are honored at the resident rate at the Stroudsburg Pool; Smithfield Township Residents are honored at the resident rate at the Dansbury Park Pool. Season passes are available prior to the season at the Day Street Community Center. Once the information is collected, all future visits are streamlined with your own season pass ID card. The following are the rates for the 2008 season:

2008 Swim Lessons

Stroudsburg Borough Pool

Stroudsburg Borough Pool is pleased to offer American Red Cross swimming lessons. Swimmers must attend swim testing on June 14 or 15 to be placed in proper swim level. Private lessons are available upon request. Please contact the Stroudsburg Borough Office at 421-5444 for further details.

Swim Testing Dates: Saturday and Sunday, June 14, 15; 10-11 am

Session 1 June 23-July 4

Session 2 July 7–July 18

Session 3 July 21–August 1

Session 4 August 4–August 15

Times: 9:00 am, 9:30 am, 10:00 am (each class is 30 minutes)

Fee: $40 (nonrefundable)

Lap Swimming & Water Walking Ages 18 and up

Dates: Monday–Friday, starting in June

Times: 10:30–11 am & 6:30–7 pm

Fee: $3/session

Dansbury Park Pool

Swimming lessons at Dansbury Pool will be held mornings between 10 am-noon. Certified instructors will conduct classes for all age groups and levels. Class size is limited to insure the best teaching conditions and participant safety. A preliminary test to determine swim groups is held prior to the start of classes. For further information on swim lessons, please contact the Dansbury Park Pool at 421-6591. All dates are subject to change.

Registration: June 25-27; 10-noon

Lesson Dates: June 30–August 8 (except July 4)

Times: 10:15, 10:45, 11:15, 11:45 (30 minute lessons)

Fees: first child: $30/resident; $45/non-resident

second child: $30/resident; $45/non-resident

third or more children: $10/resident; $25/non-resident
