Trail Run & Walk Route Map
Location: Dansbury Park
Join us for a Grand Opening and Dedication ceremony of the new Dansbury Trailhead at the fifth annual Levee Loop Trail Run & Fun Walk on National Trails Day, Saturday, June 5. Funded by a $100,000 grant from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and matched with cash and in-kind services by East Stroudsburg Borough and Stroud Township, the construction of the Trailhead expanded the width of the levee in the northwest corner of Dansbury Park for a scenic overlook of the Brodhead Creek. A stairway, ADA-compliant ramps, informational kiosk, benches, bike racks, water fountain, and a small parking area complete the amenities. The Grand Opening ceremony at 10 am also includes the dedication of trees planted in honor of those individuals and organizations who helped transform the former East Stroudsburg Police Station into the Day Street Community Center.
The 4.5 mile trail run and walk on the levee leads through water, sand, grass, trees and several parks. Prizes are awarded to the top two men and women finishers in each age division. A fun walk of the Levee Loop will begin before the race, so bring the whole family! Shirts are available to the first 150 registered participants! Registration forms are available at the Day Street Community Center or online
