Lifeguard Certification Course

Learn how to become an American Red Cross Lifeguard.  This is a blended class with online, classroom, and pool components.  All participants must be able to swim 300 yards, tread water, and retrieve a brick from the bottom of the pool.  The swim test is a prerequisite that all particiants need to pass in order to take this course. 
*Registered Participants must take the swim test on one of the following dates: Monday, May 15 or Wednesday, May 17. 
Participants who do not pass the prerequisite (registration fee minus administrative fee of $15 will be refunded).

Location:  Chipperfield Elementary School Pool
Dates and Times:   Pretest dates are Monday, May 15 and Wednesday, May 17 from 6:30-8 pm.
 Certification classes are Thursday and Friday, May 25 & 26 from 5-9pm; and Saturday, May 27, from 9 am to 5 pm
Ages:  15+
Fee:  $260


Lifeguard Recertification Course

Lifeguarding review classes are designed to help you update your skills while also extending yor certification for another two years.  The Red Cross offers review courses, for those whose certification is still valid (or within 30 days of expiring) while allowing you to continue to work without a lapse in verification.

Location:  Chipperfield Elementary School Pool
Dates and Times:  Thursday and Friday, May 18 and 19, from 5-9pm
Fee: $115  *Lifeguard hip pack is $30 extra if needed, order when you register*


Water Safety Instructor Certification

Earn your water safety instructor certification from the American Red Cross, and gain the skills needed to teach courses and make presentations to swimmers at every age and ability.  Through our aquatic instructor training program, you can help recreational swimmers meet their goals, refine their skills, and stay safe in, on, and around water. 

Location:  Chipperfield Elementary School Pool
Dates and times:  Thursday and Friday, May 11-12, from 4-9 pm; and Saturday, May 13, from 9 am - 5 pm
Ages:  16+
Fee:  $350
