Watercolor Painting

This is an exciting, intuitive, hands-on class for participants with any level of painting experience who want to have fun while learning how to easily produce impressive watercolor paintings. Using the simple concept of complementary colors and elementary principles of the Color Wheel, aspiring artists learn how to create beautiful works of art. Using innate, fundamental drawing skills to sketch on cold pressed watercolor paper, participants create the basis for all painting projects. Bring a favorite photo to use as a starting point. Increase fundamental painting skills and proper use of media and materials, while focusing on appropriate compositional design, use of value and color, and how to achieve desired effects. Polymer Jewelry

Walking for 30 minutes a day has endless health benefits. Learn proper walking strides, duration, and frequency. We’ll listen to our bodies and measure our heart rates to determine how hard we need to work to increase our health and fitness. Warm up, cool down and stretching are included with each class.

Mommy & Me Yoga

Designed for new mothers and babies not yet on the crawl, this class progressively builds strength and balance while practicing yoga postures with your baby. Classes incorporate breathing, relaxation techniques, music, and movement.

Yoga for seniors is a gentle Hatha yoga practiced from a chair or standing that improves posture and balance. Techniques for breathing and relaxation are included.

Daybreak Divas

Start the day off right by working up a sweat to a Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds DVD. Using simple moves to create mid- to high- intensity aerobic workouts, the Walk Away the Pounds program also incorporates strength training for total-body benefits. Healthy Steps in Motion

Regular physical activity is the best protection against disease and disability and the best insurance for an independent, healthy, and active life! This fall prevention and strengthening program is for seniors of any fitness level. Workouts with a trained instructor are low- to mid-intensity and involve balance, strength, and flexibility training, stretching, and mild aerobics.

Reiki I

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation. A combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on experience helps participants focus on incorporating Reiki into everyday life. Reiki can be used for your own wellbeing as well as your children, pets, and even household plants! Please bring a pillow and yoga mat (if you have one) for use during breathing exercises and guided meditation.

Senior Wii Bowling League

Gather your friends and sign up as a team of 4 or register as an individual to challenge other area seniors to Wii Bowling. League schedule will be available one week prior to start of the league. Designed especially for women, this program series covers the basics that every woman should know! From household and auto repairs to balancing budgets and lawn care, participants learn skills to last a lifetime.

Week 2 Automobiles (oil & tire change, fluids)
Week 3 Sewing and Knowing (hems, buttons, patches, zippers)

Adult CPR/AED Training

Learn CPR and Automated External Defibrillator skills for taking care of adults in emergencies, as well as how to care for cardiac emergencies and choking.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer

Learn adult, child, and infant CPR for the Professional Rescuer, including 2-person CPR, rescue breathing and how to care for choking victims. Class is designed for those who work or wish to work in the professional health field. Includes Automated External Defibrillator.

Golf Basics

Location: Snydersville Golf Range, Route 209, 5 miles south of Stroudsburg
Four hours of golf instruction intended for the new or returning golfer, this course covers full-swing fundamentals, including pre-swing, in-swing and short game instruction. Golf equipment is provided, but you may bring your own if desired. Call 570-992-3336 to find out if class has been cancelled due to weather. Subject to minimum enrollment of 5 students, maximum of 12 students. Instructor: PGA Professional Deron Erney is a former Head Instructor of a Golf Magazine Top 25 Golf School, and specializes in teaching golf to juniors and adults. He is the Head Professional at Snydersville Golf Range.

Tennis, nearly everyone? Beginner and players wishing to improve are placed on teams of same skill level and compete each week in fun, friendly matches. Play on a team with your spouse, friends, neighbors, or some new tennis friends. Sign up as a group or come as an individual and meet new people.

Enjoy spending time with other local seniors playing a few rounds of lawn Bocce and sipping coffee! Teams and individuals are welcome; individuals are be placed on teams upon arrival. Games are beginner friendly and semi-competitive.

Thai Cuisine Cooking Demo with Chef Alice

Precision Music Lessons
Musical instruction inspires creativity, promotes self-discipline, and is valuable to both the mind and soul at any age. Piano is the easiest to learn to play and offers the best way to learn to read and understand music. Guitar is by far the most popular instrument, with good reason: it is easy, portable, versatile, and makes great music.

Group Lessons
Small group instruction (for beginners only) offers a great way to learn in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Participants learn the basics of music and gain a solid understanding of the instrument.
